Muse, The Resistance (2009)

My engaged but, if I'm honest, slightly all-over-the-place review of the new Muse is now up at Strange Horizons.

I bought this a week or so ago but haven't listened to it, owing to buying Green Day's new album on the same day and not being able to take it off the CD player since. And I didn't even think I liked Green Day, but it's utterly fantastic. I do like a bit of Muse though so this will get its chance in due course.

I can't seem to get into this album, the title track is very good but I find present-day Muse just doesn't do it for me like Origin of Symmetry did. Oh well, bands move on and you can't expect to always like what they move on to (I'm trying not to be one of those people who always complains that music act X's early stuff was much better etc)

One thing is for sure, United States of Eurasia has displaced Hoodoo for the title of Muse's worst song in my opinion.
